We use plant-based vegan leather made from cactus. This organic and highly sustainable material replaces the use of animal leather and other synthetic materials that are not environmentally friendly. It does not contain toxic chemicals or phthalates, is PVC and DMF free, is partially biodegradable and is 100% cruelty free. Thanks to this innovative leather alternative our products have the same essence as premium leather without harming animals or the environment.
WATER USE REDUCTION
Cacti don’t need an irrigation system, they grow with rainwater and natural earth minerals.
After the mature leaves are cut they are left to dry in the sun, so there is no additional energy use in the drying process.
The plantation is fully organic, no herbicides or pesticides are used.
The plant is left undamaged to enable repeat harvesting from the same plant.
The cacti leftovers that are not used do not go to waste, they are sold to the food industry. (That’s how organic our leather is!)
Our organic premium silk has the Standard 100 by OEKO-TEX® label, meaning that it has been tested for harmful substances and you can trust that our silks are harmless for human health.
The Standard 100 by OEKO-TEX® label also ensures that our silks are dyed with NON-azo dyes. Azo dyes are synthetic dyes that are proven to have environmental and health consequences. These dyes form compounds known as aromatic amines, which are dangerous to human health as there has been found a relation between these aromatic amines and cancer. Azo dyes are not biodegradable and have been shown to damage ecosystems when wastewater is released from factories into the environment. Our mission is to protect not only the environment but also our consumer’s health, so rest assured that our silks are free from these harmful chemicals.
